Planning and Risk Manager (Contract)

Location: Edinburgh, Scotland Country: UK Rate: £495 - £497 per day
 

Planning and Risk Manager| 6 months (Outside IR35) Hybrid (Edinburgh)

Harvey Nash's client is recruiting for a Planning and Risk Manager on a 6 month contract.

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee the monitoring, updating, and reporting of the organisations
  • Plan in collaboration with the program manager and teams. Identify dependencies, critical tasks, and potential challenges, and work with the relevant teams to find solutions. Escalate issues to the senior team and Board when necessary (25%)
  • Execute the Risk Strategy, which involves identifying risks and actively challenging mitigation plans. Monitor and escalate risks through to resolution as part of the RAID process (20%)
  • Manage the Operations Manual, including updating desk instructions to support teams in their roles within the organisation. Assist teams in setting and understanding milestones and deadlines (20%)
  • Review and update the governance statement as needed. Establish a robust governance framework to ensure accurate and timely reporting to senior stakeholders (15%)
  • Foster collaboration among multiple projects and teams within the division through regular communication. Share lessons learned in a dynamic environment (10%)
  • Continuously capture lessons learned, maintain a log of these lessons, and identify opportunities to apply them in the overall work of the Inquiry (10%).

Key Skills

  • Comprehensive and demonstrated experience of leading, supporting, and maintaining complex programmes across multiple teams using recognised Project Management methodologies
  • Ability to extensively demonstrate planning and risk expertise, supporting and advising colleagues across a range of business areas through to resolution.
  • Demonstrate strong people management skills working across multi-disciplined teams
  • Ability to add value by co-ordinating and driving consistency in joint working and reporting, across multiple profession
  • Excellent networking & influencing skills

This role falls outside of IR35 and is hybrid working with the expectation to be in the Edinburgh office 2 or 3 days a week.
